Each year in October, DJ Mag releases the list of Top 100 DJs in the world, which coincides with Amsterdam Dance Event. DJ Mag and Alda joined forces to create the Award Show around this spectacle. This year the event took place in AFAS LIVE, Amsterdam.
Spark Creative Studio was responsible for Show Creation & Show Direction and involved in the production of the live-stream of the event.
It was a joy to create a show again for a big audience.
The Top 100 DJs list usually sets the tone for the popularity of DJs in the upcoming year. Therefore Spark Creative Studio developed a direction for the audio-visual identity of the event which payed respect to the roots of this culture, as well as giving the identity a future forward feel.
Together with VeeMee Visuals and 3AM Audio, we started crafting the identity for the event. In less than a month, we produced 15 custom time-coded shows, with fully custom audio and visuals.
For the crowning of the World's No.1 DJ, we created a countdown, in which the full top 10 of the list was announced. Building momentum towards the No.1, we step-by-step introduced more effects in the show, to create more anticipation in the crowd.
Unfortunately the No.1, David Guetta, couldn't make it to the event because of travel restrictions. Therefore, we integrated a video-message from him, as well as a tribute to him based on his hit 'Dreams' (featuring Morten and Lanie Gardner).
